Prosthetic & Orthotic Resident
Cortney’s passion for O&P began in middle school while helping care for her grandfather as his health declined. She vividly remembers guiding him through the house and supporting him when he couldn’t support himself. When she was told there was “nothing we can do,” that moment left a lasting impact and shaped her core belief is a future clinician: no patient should ever feel like they’ve run out of options. She believes there is always something that can be done — whether it’s a device, a resource, or simply showing up with empathy and presence.
“I love the patients! I really enjoy hearing their stories and connecting with them on a
personal level. It’s so important to understand our patients and their overall goals in
order to create the best possible devices for them.”
Cortney has tried more hobbies than most people realize! She’s played nearly every “classic” Texas sport — including golf — and also plays guitar and piano. She enjoys drawing, painting, singing, lifting weights, and playing chess.
