Chose O&P Field Because

Carol was ultimately drawn to the O&P field because of the ability it offered to improve the quality of life for patients. However, she was first exposed to the profession by a chance encounter. While working for a surgeon as a certified medical assistant, she was contemplating the possibility of going back to school to pursue a degree and become a registered nurse (RN). She and a friend were discussing this while they were having lunch together, and the people sitting at the table next to them overheard their conversation. They came over and introduced themselves as certified orthotists. They gave me their business cards to setup an interview, and the rest has been history.

Comment

“The things I like most about my job are the interactions between co-workers, providers, and most of all the patients.”
