Chose O&P Field Because

Jennifer was approached by a guidance counselor who told her that she’d be a perfect fit for OSU’s new orthotic and prosthetic assistant program. At the time, Jennifer knew absolutely nothing about O&P, but after meeting the department head and touring the facility, she quickly realized that she would be able to put her hands and creativity to use in helping people. That’s when I knew O&P was for me!

Comment

“Building a relationship with your patient based on trust is the thing I enjoy most about my job. Sometimes you have a patient who has become frustrated because they’re still in pain even after seeing multiple doctors and visiting several O&P facilities. But, when you’re able to finally fit them with something that is both functional and comfortable, you see the relief in their face. At that moment you realize that you’ve gained their trust and they’ll return to see you for years to come.”

FUN

FACTS

Jennifer admits to having a huge bank of what her husband refers to as “useless information”, but she assures us that she is the person you want to have on your team during trivia night. When she’s not working, she can usually be found spending time with family, watching her kids play sports, visiting new places, putting her “useless information” to good use at trivia nights, custom woodworking, participating in school or community fundraisers, and serving as a volunteer firefighter.
