For Thomas, life changed in an instant. On the day of his brother’s funeral, fatigue led to a devastating accident that cost him his leg. After 37 surgeries and countless challenges, he faced the uncertainty of whether he could ever return to the life he loved — spending time outdoors, boxing, basketball, and raising his four children, Ember, Eden, Ella, and Kaden.
At first, the journey seemed overwhelming. “When you’re someone who loses their leg from a tragic accident, you don’t know what to do. It was hard. You don’t think that life can go on,” he shared. But in his search for answers, Thomas discovered Snell Prosthetics & Orthotics — a place he says offered not only expert care, but genuine compassion.
Through his partnership with Snell, Thomas learned that the activities he once thought were lost could still be part of his life. With the right support and determination, he reclaimed the ability to hunt, fish, box, and even try new things.
“You hit rock bottom when you lose a limb,” Thomas reflects, “but the good thing about hitting rock bottom is there’s only one way to go, and that’s up. It’s family and a company like Snell that helps you climb out of that hole and keep reaching for new heights.”
Today, Thomas continues to live fully, grateful for the care and encouragement that helped him turn tragedy into triumph.
